According to statements made by Fayette County coroner the recent death of a 6-month-old girl from Masontown, was the result of sudden death syndrome.

After extensive tests, authorities said the death is not the result of trauma as formerly believed. Dr. Cyril Wecht said there was no foul play involved.

The infant was taken to Uniontown Hospital Wednesday where she was pronounced dead.
