The area of low pressure that resulted in all of the unsettled weather along the East Coast and Appalachians is beginning to enter eastern Canada, taking most of the moisture along with it. A moderating trend in temperatures is expected as readings return closer to normal by midweek.
Warm to hot weather will continue over parts of the Desert Southwest and into the Great Basin through Wednesday as a strong upper level ridge remains established over this region through the beginning of the work week. Along the West Coast, a return to wet weather is forecast as two Pacific systems move ashore during the middle of the week. Any snow should be confined above 7000 feet in the Sierras.
