Suspect in gunpoint robbery of pharmacy charged

Steven E. Watts, 44 years of age, formerly of Philadelphia, was charged by indictment with one count of robbery which interfered with interstate commerce and one count of using and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence.

The indictment charges that the defendant committed a gunpoint robbery of a pharmacy on April 16, 2012. Authorities said the defendant is also charged with using and carrying a firearm during the robbery charged in the indictment.

If convicted of all counts, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment with a mandatory minimum of seven years consecutive to any other sentence imposed, a $500,000 fine, five years’ supervised release, and a $200 special assessment.
