Two charged in Hobbs Act robbery conspiracy

Calvin Hicks and William Cooper were recently charged in a four-count indictment with conspiring to rob and robbing Sunny’s Grill & Beer, located at 2416 Rhawn Street, in Philadelphia, on December 27, 2008.

According to the indictment, Hicks, 25-years-old, and Cooper, 21-years-old, threatened and assaulted the owners of Sunny’s Grill & Beer at gunpoint and robbed them of approximately $7,516 and other things of value in their possession. In addition, Hicks is charged with being a previously convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Robbery of a Citizen’s Bank Branch still under investigation

The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are still seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery of the Citizen’s Bank branch located at 6271 Frankford Avenue earlier today. The subject who robbed the Citizen’s Bank branch today is also believed to be responsible for the robbery of the PNC Bank branch located at 6855 Frankford Avenue on 12/14/2010.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. today, the subject entered the bank and presented a threatening demand note to a teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank on foot and was last seen headed eastbound on Robbins Street.

The subject is described as a white male in his 20′s, 6’0″ tall, thin build, wearing a baseball cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, and a dark jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police department or the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force at 215-418-4000. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
